I’m proud to have signed up for my first bit of craftivism, and have convinced several friends and colleagues to join in too. ‘Is Big Society Working?’ is a public art project that aims to investigate the impact of the government’s budget cuts on real people, by asking people to stitch their stories onto sections of a quilt, which will be sewn into a new union jack. It’s being co-ordinated by Rosa (of MyLittleStitches) and the finished piece will be exhibited from the 10th June to the 13th June in The Clore Centre, Hampton Court Palace. If you’d like to get involved, more details are available at http://isbigsocietyworking.wordpress.com/ It wont cost you a penny.
A good friend of mine is severely disabled but has had her personal budget for support cut by a third. My friend will be embroidering a section of the quilt and I’m proud that my section will be alongside hers. We all have a voice, use yours!

Right on!
